Event

University of Bristol research talks at City of Bristol College

On 5 March 2026, myself and Xuan Zhan, another PhD student in the University of Bristol Mathematics department, visited City of Bristol College to present to two groups of maths A-level students. We both presented about ourselves, our work, and life as a PhD student, followed by leading the students through short activities pertaining to our research. I spoke about myself and my career path, and then the students went through an activity introducing them to Bayesian Decision Analysis through that most quintessential of British decisions: whether (weather?) you need to wear a raincoat tomorrow. I have attached my slides, as well as the handout for the activity, in case anyone else wants to run a similar activity for students!
